Sunday Blog

Hello there and Happy Sunday,

I am sipping some iced coffee on the back deck of my childhood home, enjoying a summer morning. I hope you’re enjoying your morning, evening, afternoon, whenever you should find yourself reading this.

This past week I launched a coaching program called “The Sacred Self” that I am very excited about. But also apprehensive. I’m on an honesty kick lately — as a Life Coach, my goal has become to normalize the human experience.

As humans, we get nervous, feel insecure, try new things, worry what others will think, wonder if we’re good enough, and then feel guilty for having those feelings. And, well, we just wouldn’t be human if we didn’t. So with that, yes I am excited and I am apprehensive. Worried that maybe, no one will be interested in this program. Worried that I have no idea how to really market a new program in a way that feels authentic to me.

What to do! This is where self development tools come in handy. I can step back and see that I have both feelings of excitement and worry present…and then I can make a choice as to which one I would rather feel.

You might ask: “Can you just do that? Won’t you still be worried though?”

I think it comes down to how attached we feel, how personal we make things. When we take a step back, we offer space for a new perspective. For me, I realized this is a new experience. And I like new experiences. They’re never what we expect, but we always walk away a little wiser, maybe a little weathered, with a funny story to tell.

SO here’s to trying new things. May you offer yourself space for a new perspective the next time you find yourself ruminating.

Weekly Highlights:

  • Spent most of this past week at summer camp! It’s a grand old time.
  • I am hosting a group Reiki experience tonight, excited!
  • I ate way too much sugar this week.

Learning:

Human Design is a tool that I adore. It falls into the esoteric/mystical category along with astrology, tarot, etc. Human Design was my first introduction to our unique energetic signatures. We each have our own way of operating in this world, and this tool helped me remember that about myself.

As with many things, the experience of Human Design differs from its logical explanation. I encourage you to explore it for yourself to see if it resonates with you. Here’s some more information to get you started!

Human Design blends ancient wisdom with modern science to reveal your unique energetic makeup. Similar to astrology, it uses your date, time, and location of birth to share the design you were born with. Here’s a brief overview of the main element of Human Design, which is our energy type:

Energy Types:

Manifestors:

  • Natural initiators and catalysts
  • Designed to start things and inform others before acting
  • Represent about 9% of the population

Generators:

  • Life force and energy creators
  • Best at responding to life rather than initiating
  • Make up about 70% of the population (including Manifesting Generators)

Manifesting Generators:

  • Blend of Manifestor and Generator energies
  • Quick to respond and multi-talented
  • Part of the 70% Generator group

Projectors:

  • Natural guides and managers of energy
  • Designed to understand and guide others
  • Represent about 20% of the population

Reflectors:

  • Mirrors of their environment
  • Highly sensitive and empathetic
  • The rarest type, making up only about 1% of the population

If you’re curious about your design, ask me!  Have a great week!
