Sunday Blog

Hello there and happy Sunday from Cape Cod!

I’m sitting here in the morning listening to the birds and sipping coffee – my favorite way to start the day.

This week, I began a new job at The Snowy Owl coffee shop, and I’m loving it. If there’s one thing I’ve come to appreciate in this nomadic entrepreneurial life, it’s that a little structure goes a long way. I knew I needed more structure in my days. While I love my work in coaching, reiki, and events, I was putting too much pressure on myself to be ‘productive,’ which was becoming stressful and less enjoyable.

Now, I have a few days a week dedicated to my coaching business and a few spent at the coffee shop. It’s a nice balance as I continue to grow my coaching practice.

Speaking of growth, I’m excited to announce that my first retreat is in the books! I’ll be hosting it with Jessica Knight, my friend, mentor, and first-ever Life Coach. It’s scheduled for this September, on the weekend of the autumn equinox – all about balance! More details to come.

Highlights:

  • Read a book I loved: “A River Enchanted” by Rebecca Ross. Check it out if you enjoy strong female leads, mystery, nature, and a touch of fantasy.
  • Started a new job!
  • Planned a retreat!
  • Took a plunge in the freezing cold ocean!

Learnings:

Astrology 101 Here are some basics:

  • A birth chart is a map of the sky at the exact time and location of your birth
  • Zodiac signs correspond to constellations in the sky
  • Each planet and constellation represents different aspects of personality and life

The “Main 3” in astrology:

  1. Sun Sign:
    • Often what people know as their “zodiac sign”
    • Represents an aspirational quality or life mission
    • Something we may grow into over time
  2. Moon Sign:
    • Represents internal emotional expression
    • How we perceive ourselves internally
    • Some people relate more deeply to their moon sign
  3. Rising Sign (Ascendant):
    • Based on the eastern horizon at the time of birth
    • Changes frequently, approximately every couple of hours
    • Represents how others may perceive you and themes in your life

Elemental Signs in Astrology:

  • Zodiac signs are grouped into four elements: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water
  • Example: Leo is a Fire sign, along with Aries and Sagittarius

The Value of Astrology:

  • Can be used as a tool for deeper self-understanding
  • Helps in understanding how to work with yourself in new ways
  • Can offer insights into understanding others

Have a great Sunday and wonderful week ahead!
